Hi friends,
Our newborn baby daughter Jordan will be going into surgery
again at 7:30am EST this morning to correct Hydrocephalus which is a swelling of
the ventricles in the brain due to the Chiari 2 malformation that typically
accompanies the Spina-Bifida condition. The doctors will be installing a shunt
that will drain off this excess of pressure/fluid in her brain's ventricles and
drain it through a small tube down into her abdomen where the fluid will be
reabsorbed and will exit the body with the other wastes. Please continue to keep
her, our family, (and the doctors) in your prayers today.
Other than the swelling, Jordan has been doing very well.
As of today she was off all pain medications for the prior surgery, and has been
eating very, very well, and has been looking healthy, and sleeping a lot.
She is moving her legs and toes, and is no longer on a catheter. As always you can visit
