What is S.T.A.R.S.?
S.T.A.R.S. is an acronym for
Spiritual Threat Advisory Rating System. It is designed to warn others of
issues that could be a threat to their spiritual walk with Christ. This
can involve anything from false doctrines to movements for Sunday Law
advancement. It operates on a very similar principle to the Department of
Homeland Security color coded warning system.
The
S.T.A.R.S. system came about after a brainstorm of how we could use a
simple method to warn others about spiritual deceptions and threats both foreign
(outside the church) and domestic (inside the church.)
The
idea for the
S.T.A.R.S. acronym came from the following quote by Ellen White that
warns us that near the end “many” of the most influential people (pastors,
evangelists, etc) within our own church would apostatize.
"Many a
star that we have admired for its brilliancy
will then go out in darkness."

Don’t forget, “We have far more to fear from within than

The
S.T.A.R.S. warning level is decided by the S.T.A.R.S
rating system. Every threat is weighed
independently based upon a set of basic criteria and as necessary the threat
level is changed to match current conditions. Any change in the threat
level will be responded to by an email and web based advisory with the basics of
a problem.
